- Once you have created a comprehensive job list, compare it to the job you’re applying for. This will help you understand whether your work experience is relevant and appropriate for the role. If you are certain that your work experience is not relevant or appropriate for the role, you can delete the job list and continue applying with a new resume.
- You can include up to 10 years of relevant work experience on your resume, so consider including earlier years if you have significant job history. For example, if you started working as a career counselor in high school or college, you can include jobs from the high school or college years on your resume.
- When interviewing for a job, you have the opportunity to tell the hiring manager about your skills, experience and education. You can also show them how you’ll benefit their company if they hire you. Understanding how to interview and attract attention is important to getting a job in sales.

My old resume was way too long, filled with irrelevant (to the oil and gas industry) information, and most of all it was just plain ugly. The new resume is much shorter, and focuses on the most relevant (and thus most appealing) information. No columns, no wasted space. Just straight up good, clean, readable, relevant information.
I applied for 30 jobs with this resume, 7 got back to me, and all of them were rejections. The company that did the hiring wants me to have a bachelor’s degree and requires me to have 3 years of experience. I have a bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience.
It’s simple, easy to use, and gives you everything you and your resume needs in one neat package. I can’t tell you how many times I see a client ask me for help with their resume, only to realize after the visit they wasted their money on an “MLM Scam Resume Creator” or their resume was so confusing they didn’t even know where to start.
It’s far from perfect, but it’s a hell of a lot better than the one I had before. And it’s free! I think you’ll find it to be an invaluable tool.
I used this template for my last 3 job applications and landed two interviews. To elaborate, I had no previous job experience, and this was my only job applying to anything. I did two different versions of this resume, using the same title for both. The only difference was the project information and the skills slided menu. I got two interviews using this template.
It fits all email clients. It’s simple, and compelling. It’s eye-catching. It’s awesome for folks who write. It’s simple to manage. It lets people who are unskilled write for big corporations with hundreds of applicants.
It is easy to read. It is professional, yet still casual. It is still easily recognizable. It is still easily searchable. It is still affordable. It is still gaining in popularity.
It’s simple. It’s the most common. You know it looks good. You’re less likely to get confused among hundreds of other resumes. It’s consistent. You want to follow the same format no matter what job you’re applying for. It’s direct and to the point. You want the hiring manager to know exactly what you did and how you did it.
It allowed me to fit all the relevant information on one page while still having plenty of whitespace left. All that space was used to describe my background, education, skills and job experience. I was able to condense it down to a single page by removing extraneous information.
I’m 40 and have decided that in order to have any sort of stable income I must leave the retail business. I have accomplished so much more in my time in retail than I will ever know. I’ve worked at many different companies, have had many different titles, and most of my experience is not directly applicable to the career I desire to go to school for. That is fine, I have the money to go to a good school no matter what.
