I am so grateful that there are people out there that are willing to teach us how to write resumes better. I am willing to pay for a course or a certified resume writing service. I am tired of spending hours and wasting money trying to figure out how to write a resume that sends a strong message and gets the job I want. I am ready for a new way of thinking about resume writing.
It is clean, simple and to the point. It doesn’t try to be fancy or artful. It’s simple and easy to read. It’s not crowded, and there’s not an overabundance of information. If I can do it, you can do it too! My resume is simple because it’s easy to read.
It’s simple and straight to the point. No more than 1 page. If resumes were books, this is the first section of the first page. It’s the hook. It’s easy to skim. I know some people recommend a resume be long and detailed. Here it is easy to skim. It’s clear and concise. Skimmability is good.
It is simple. You have 23 names, 23 places, 23 months. This is simple for two reasons. It is easy to read. Most resumes try to be fancy or complicated. This is very easy to read. You can immediately tell if a person has spent a lot of time on their resume because it is simple. It is consistent.
It’s simple, easy to understand, and guarantees an immediate *”Yes! “* response from potential employers. Best of all, your resume will match the job description exactly! Here’s how: 1. You’ll recognize many key words and phrases. 2. This template is smartly designed to showcase your skills and achievements with outstanding specificity.
It is simple. It does not require a lot of space. You do not need to put your whole resume on every line. A good way to get rid of irrelevant information is to make it a full two pages. A recruiter is looking for about 7 key words, and you can easily get that with one page. It is clean.
I applied for the role of an Executive Assistant with a major hospital in my area and was not selected for the interview. Instead, I was invited to interview for a Client Services Coordinator with a large healthcare company. I knew then that I had made the right choice for my career.
It is very easy to customize. I can change any of the items in the template to fit anyone’s needs. It is very easy to read. No more “Got it” or “Got it on point”. I can be satisfied with “Got it”. It is very easy to maintain.
I feel so much more confident and comfortable in my new one. I tried to follow the advice of my previous post and also read the FAQ. I tried to keep it one page by leaving out irrelevant work history info like my part time job as a bartender and volunteer work. I also cut down on all the “accounting” type tasks and put that into my “professional experience” section.
I wanted to give myself the best chance possible to get an internship, and this template did exactly that. I got one interview using this template, and I believe I’m partly to thank for that. It’s a little more time consuming to enter data for an application, but it’s worth it if you want to get a job in the field.
