- A young professional wanting to list a dynamic educational qualities first, such as a GPA, relevant coursework, or multiple degrees deserves an equally powerful layout made specifically for grabbing the attention of all employers comparing you to the rest of the freshers in the pile.
- Choose from a plethora of margin options under word’s table properties tab to customize the rows or columns and stand out as a unique recent graduate.
- Experiment with the table cells exuding any volunteer experience you have or extracurricular activities you partaken in while finishing your undergrad studies.
- All you need to do highlight any text on the page to tweak the particulars.
- So regardless of whether your objective is to use it for a college application, undergraduate internship, or a first job… you know you have the kind of CV that gets you noticed.
Your professional objective should provide an overview of your current experience and career goals. It should be one or two sentences that clearly describe your career goals and how your experience and skills relate to achieving those goals. A great resume objective statement draws attention to your most impressive qualities and makes your resume stand out from other applicants.

I had a total of two interviews with two different companies. One of them was a rejection, and the other I got but didn’t get the job.The main reason I say it was the best decision I could have made is because I had a friend who was helping me who had a great background in HR and recruiting.
I’m working to update my resume to have a little bit more whitespace and to not be sowordy. I tried to use the same template for both the format and content. I have yet to submit it, but I want to know how it looks, what changes I can make, and what I can leave out.
I didn’t have a specific job I was shooting for, so I tried to cater my resume to whatever job I could get. This has gotten me 3 interviews in the first month! I am trying to get into a Nursing Assistant position, since that is what I have a degree in, but I haven’t gotten the experience to back it up.
I didn’t have to change my content based on the job description. First, I created this template using a template that I liked. Next, I changed the job description based on what I needed at that time. I could tell that it was good, but I didn’t think it would be this good.
I used the template in the exact order it was written for me. Here are the reasons it will save you time and look much better than your traditional resume: ##1 It starts with a clean template. In traditional resumes, the headings are usually left hanging, making it difficult to quickly scan. In the exact template I placed my information and the text resumes, the text resumes are large and bold, making it easy to scan quickly. ##2 It saves you time.
I’m using a different template now, and I’m confident it’s a great template. But I think it’s so boring. I want something eye catching, but I don’t want to do something too fancy.
I applied for 80+ jobs and received only 3 phone interviews, but they were the exact positions I was applying for. I am forever changing up my resume, but the one that they use in the company I am applying for makes my skills jump out at you. The other resumes I have created are very vanilla.I have very little experience in the industry I am applying for (3 months), so I’m trying to create a more unique and professional-looking resume.
You get a job. You stay there for as long as you need to. You get promoted when you want and when you are ready. You move up when you want and when you are ready. You get rewarded for being there and for being awesome. #1 – You get a job. As a manager, my goal is to create an environment where my employees are happy and want to come back.
I have always been a person who likes to layout his resume to optimize readability and help recruiters quickly get to the important information. With my old resume, I had to read it cover to cover to find relevant information and keywords, which was time consuming.
You will not regret it. I’ve used this template since 2005 and I would say its probably the single best thing you can do to improve your resume.
